InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

August 29, 2024

The focus for today is:

I focus on what enriches me, I see the good in others and situations,
and I learn to enjoy what I possess right now.

Today's inspiration was written by Jude Bijou:

Do you feel like you're never enough? That there's never enough time? Money? Friends? Great opportunities? Recognition? If you answer "yes" to any of these, you are not alone. The price you pay being stuck in "not enough" thinking is that you are engaged in a never-ending struggle, reaching for more to appease restlessness and affirm your self-worth.

Your tendency to constantly measure what comes your way leaves you feeling unfulfilled, insufficient, or dissatisfied. "Not enough" thinking seeps into three distinct areas: how we view ourselves, other people and situations, and time.

Having this "not enough" scarcity mindset, keeps us wanting and never satisfied. To change and move out of this deep-seated black-and-white attitude, we must do some inner work. Depending on our particular "not enough" stuff, we must rigorously focus on what enriches us, see the good in others and situations, and learn to enjoy what we possess right now.

Today's inspiration was adapted from the InnerSelf.com article:
Are You Engaged In A "Not Enough" Struggle? Not Having, Not Doing, Not Being Enough?
     by Jude Bijou.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of knowing that you are enough and there is enough (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
The world of advertising teaches us that we need more... something we don't currently have or more of what we have, or a new version of what we have, bigger, better, different. Yet, all that does is try to fill a hole in our being. And that hole cannot be filled by things. It can only be filled by Love... Love for ourselves and Love for others and Love for the world itself. Things, no matter how expensive, how new, how fancy, will never fulfill us. Only Love can do that... Love yourself and Love others, and happiness and peace of mind will come and reside within you.

Our focus for today: I focus on what enriches me, I see the good in others and situations, and I learn to enjoy what I possess right now.
