Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self

The song popularized by Frank Sinatra "My Way" famously states" "I did it my way". We all do it "our way" in whatever we do. We can't help but do it "our way" even when we are possibly trying to mimic others, or follow the "in" thing. Because it is coming from us, it has a different note, a different energy than if it was coming from anyone else. We are all, after all, unique.

The interesting thing about the song "My Way" is that, while the credit for writing the song goes to Canadian singer/song-writer Paul Anka, the song actually came first from a French song entitled "Comme d'habitude" (translation: As usual). Paul Anka heard the song and wrote an English rewrite of it. So, even "as usual" becomes "my way" when we do it ourselves, especially if we do it with heart, and following inner guidance, and putting our own uniqueness into the process.

This week our featured articles look at creating our future based on, of course, our present. Because where else can we start but here and now. Yet, the future does not have to be "as usual" but can be created in whatever way feels true for us... whether we are looking at a life change due to job change, relationship ending, retirement... Whatever the next step, we have to do it our way... But the key is discovering our inner truth so that we know what is truly "our way" and not the way that we've been programmed, or taught, or led to believe is the "only" way. And the best way to discover "our way" is to be true to our joy, to the inner promptings of our heart, of our inner guiding voice. Go ahead, do it your way... the way your loving heart is prompting you to be.
