Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.
Whether you live overseas or in the USA, it's been an intense week... . The world is taking a collective breath and releasing stress and tension. No matter which side of the aisle you feel you reside in (come on over and chat) , the lead-up to the US election was "powerful". So this week, our articles encourage you to take time to "be"... Take a deep breath, and relax.. for whatever time you can. One minute is better than none..
The first featured article is "Benefits of Psychedelics in Times of Division, Crisis, and Collapse". It explores opening up to our healing journey and to envisioning a better world with the assistance of Nature. The second article which also presents a healing modality is "Simple Self-Healing with the Art of Jin Shin".
We then move on to self-discovery and awareness in "3 Roots of Overwhelm, Burnout, and Self-Sacrifice" and "Living A Guilt-Free Life". The discovery continues with "Take Yourself On and Do The Work". Alan Cohen reminds us that spirituality is everywhere (and everyone) in "The Guru in Your iPod".
This may be a time to remind ourselves that "angels fly because they take themselves lightly". Not to say that the transformation taking place on earth is not important or serious. On the contrary, because there is so much at stake for the future of humanity, that is why we must take ourselves lightly as we go along doing what needs to be done to create a better world. We "do the work", in love and in joy. As we are, so we readiate and so we create.
Please scroll down for the featured articles in this new issue of InnerSelf, and also the recap of all the articles that were added to the website during the week.
Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, health-full, and loving week.

Benefits of Psychedelics in Times of Division, Crisis, and Collapse
Written by Daniel Grauer
The other night I was sitting around a fire with a friend, discussing the influence of psychedelics on our lives, when she uttered this statement, “after three years of working with these mushrooms, I love life. I just want to be and do the best I can. All the time. Now. Urgently. For myself, for others, for Earth.”
Simple Self-Healing with the Art of Jin Shin
Written by Alexis Brink
Maybe you already know a bit about the simple and effective form of energy medicine named the Art of Jin Shin. Though the practice has many thousands of adherents all around the world and many men, women, and children who have been helped by Jin Shin in its birthplace of Japan, Jin Shin Jyutsu has not yet become a household name.

Living A Guilt-Free Life
Written by Barry Vissell
What is guilt? Most people know the answer. It's the feeling of responsibility for doing something wrong, or having done something wrong in the past. I would say we all have this feeling of guilt. It's universal. We've all made mistakes, sometimes big ones. And feelings of guilt are too often the result.
Take Yourself On and Do The Work
Written by Malcolm Stern
Whether unconscious or conscious, we are all hungry for more depth of connection and more purpose. People often choose therapy as a last resort to heal their discomfort. My group therapy practice is built on the concept of taking yourself on, or, as we call it in my group, “work”.
The Guru in Your iPod: Spirituality Is Everywhere
Written by Alan Cohen
While watching the documentary film Stephen Jobs, Hippy Billionaire, I was tickled to learn that as a young adult Jobs was significantly influenced by Baba Ram Dass and his book Be Here Now. I also credit Ram Dass as one of the most valued mentors in my life. He led millions of spiritual seekers to higher awareness and is considered by many to be the “Father of the New Age.”
