InnerSelf Newsletter: October 25, 2020

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

The "slogan" or sub-title for the InnerSelf website is "New Attitudes---New Possibilities", and that is exactly the theme of this week's newsletter. The purpose of our articles and authors is to empower readers to move forward with a new attitude thus opening the way for new possibilities and new realities.

We start with Robert Moss from his newly-released book "growing BIG DREAMS" with the article: "Breaking Down or Breaking Through? Choosing Our Attitude ". We then move forward with Hunter Clarke-Fields who suggests new behaviors and attitudes in "What To Do When You Want To Yell At Your Kids (or At Other Adults)".

Edward M. Adams suggests a revamping of male attitudes in "Who Is That Unmasked Man? It's Time to Liberate Masculinity". Jean Walters recommends "Authenticity and Naturalness as Antidotes to Fear and Anxiety" and author, Tur?ya, shows us "How Change Can Take Place in 30 Seconds".

We complete our attitudinal journey with Jonathan Hammond who brings us empowerment in the form of "The Sixth Huna Principle: Mana -- All Power Comes From Within".

As I read the "Astrological Journal for the Week" a few minutes ago, I was amazed, as I often am, at the similarities in the planetary themes to the articles intuitively selected for InnerSelf... another reminder that we are all interconnected and that we are all one. Here are some quotes from Pam's Astrological Journal" as she speaks about this week and the planet Uranus:

"...It is the planet of breakthroughs and breakdowns, but not without purpose. It is when we are dislodged from our usual routines and "normal reality" that we open our minds to alternative ways of thinking." And "Radiate into the world the energy you most want to see manifest. This is where our true power lies when external situations appear to be beyond our control."

Our attitude is paramount in these challenging times. It affects not only our own well-being and our immune system, but it radiates out to the people around us. What we put out in the world in the form of our attitude is a seed that grows... so we are the ones who decide if we will plant harmony and love, or disharmony and hatred. The choice is always ours and that is a very powerful and empowering choice to have. And fortunately, we get to choose over and over with each breath we take, each thought we think, each word we say, and each action we undertake.

It's never too late to change our attitude, and we sometimes may have to change it several times a day as we encounter challenges and outward energies. But just remember that you are in charge of you... of your attitude, of your actions. No one else is in charge of that.

Please scroll down for the featured articles in this new issue of InnerSelf, and also the recap of all the articles that were added to the website during the week.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, health-full, and loving week.

Breaking Down or Breaking Through? Choosing Our Attitude

Written by Robert Moss

innerself subscribe graphic

Breaking Down or Breaking Through? Choosing Our Attitude
For every setback, look for opportunity. That is a provocative statement, hard to accept when you feel betrayed or shamed or in the depths of grief or loss. When you have lost your job, or your partner has walked out on you, or you have made the worst mistake of your life, how can you accept the idea that by what you fall, you can rise?

What To Do When You Want To Yell At Your Kids (or At Other Adults)

Written by Hunter Clarke-Fields MSAE

What To Do When You Want To Yell At Your Kids (or At Other Adults)
It’s weird, we expect children to be respectful, yet we continually order them around. We make demands of them, then we are surprised when they are demanding. We yell, threaten, and punish, demonstrating to them that power and coercion are our go-to tools. Unsurprisingly, this causes disconnection in the relationship.

Who Is That Unmasked Man? It's Time to Liberate Masculinity

Written by Edward M. Adams, Psy.D.

Who is that Unmasked Man? It's Time to Liberate Masculinity
As a psychologist whose specialty is treating men, I believe that behind many of the threats we face are the invisible, dangerous, dysfunctional and persistent beliefs that manhood is about power and control. These beliefs about what it means to be a man are what I refer to as “confined masculinity.”

Authenticity and Naturalness as Antidotes to Fear and Anxiety

Written by Jean Walters

Authenticity and Naturalness as Antidotes to Fear and Anxiety
You have been instructed to worry and fret all of your life. This has occurred through all sorts of means—school, friends, religious doctrine, literature, television, movies, history, and family. The idea of worrying about your family has even been exalted as a form of love. It is NOT! Worry is a mental construct that obstructs flow and naturalness.

How Change Can Take Place in 30 Seconds

Written by Tur?ya

How Change Can Take Place in 30 Seconds
During an NHL hockey game, the average ice time for a player per shift is 30 seconds. When a player hits the ice, he gives all of his strength and his full focus, because in 30 seconds, multiple goals can be scored, and games can be won or lost. Then he sits for a few minutes and gets up to do it again.

The Sixth Huna Principle: Mana -- All Power Comes From Within

Written by Jonathan Hammond

The Sixth Huna Principle: Mana -- All Power Comes From Within
The sixth Huna principle, Mana, states that there is nothing outside us that is more powerful than we are, and there is nothing that can’t be touched by our influence. Every dynamic action that we take contains an inner spark of universal power that spans the galaxies and beyond.
