Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.
This week we question reality, or at least what we think is reality. We ask: What if everything you think you know is wrong? We start with "Mission Not Accomplished: Doubting Everything You Think You Know" followed by "You Are More Than Your Sun Sign".
Things are not always what they seem, and things oftentimes have a purpose that is not visible to us at the time they occur. Joyce Vissell shares her experience of this in "The Pain of Rejection Brings a Gift". And if you're a fan of do lists and having your day planned out to the minute, you may get a whole new perspective of that reality by reading "Looking for Presence: What Is Catching Your Eye?".
While the events in our life and in our world may challenge us and leave us sometimes with more questions and doubts than answers, we need to keep the faith in the ultimate power of Good and the power of Love. Alan Cohen reminds us that "A Happy Outcome is Assured: One Day, Only Love Will Remain".
What we see around us is only one aspect of reality. I just read a book entitled: "Memories of Heaven: Children's Astounding Recollections of the Time Before They Came to Earth" by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and Dee Garnes. I recommend it for a higher perspective on "life as we know it".
Perhaps we can gain strength in a quote from the bard:
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-- Hamlet (1.5.167-8), Hamlet to Horatio
Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

Mission Not Accomplished: Doubting Everything You Think You Know
Written by Jeff Eisenberg
As a koan teaching tells us, “To touch the absolute is not yet enlightenment.” When these moments come, there is a tendency to think, “Aha, I’ve got it!” Yet, just as on one level this gratifying thought fills us with a sense of accomplishment and empowerment, on another level we can already feel it slipping away, as the moment passes...

The Pain of Rejection Brings a Gift

Rejection can hurt. Perhaps a person can be rejected by a friend, partner, boss, sibling, parent, co-worker, someone you work out with at the gym, or even your grown child. Scientists are discovering that the hurt of rejection can be actually recorded within your body.

Looking for Presence: What Is Catching Your Eye?
Written by Jacob Liberman, O.D., Ph.D.
I had a strong feeling that if I see it, it is my responsibility. I began wondering what would happen if I started responding to everything that caught my eye. So I began an around-the-clock practice that went like this: anything that entered my awareness became my responsibility, anything that was my responsibility I would attend to, and anything I attended to I would complete.
