Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.
This week we peruse life from what is usually considered "the dark side" and look at life and death through a new perspective... We take a look at "playing dead" in Ninja Skills and Tools For Staying Sane and then we are asked to consider if anyone really ever dies in Do Extraordinary Claims Really Require Extraordinary Evidence? In The Lotus Flower of Light: An Exquisite Inspiration For Life and Death the author shares his shamanic journey that revealed that living a peaceful life leads to a peaceful death.
Janet Conner offers guidance in How To Serve Your Soul’s Divine Purpose and in "On Science and Faith and Healing", Doug Heyes shares that "just because something is unknown doesn’t mean it isn’t there". Pam Younghans, in this week's astrological journal, reminds us that "we be willing to change, if needed, in order to better align with our values. This can mean releasing our grasp on the familiar and letting go of certain attachments."
So we are being encouraged to step out of old beliefs, old limitations and patterns, and trust the benevolent energy of the Universe to guide us as we become willing to create a better experience for ourselves and for those around us. I am reminded of the quote from Alexandre Dumas' Three Musketeers: “All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall.” Together we can envision a better existence for all, and together we can make it happen.
Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

On Science and Faith and Healing
Written by Doug Heyes, M.A.
For every study that suggests a research link between prayer and healing, there are countless counter-arguments, rejoinders, rebuttals, and denials from legions of well-meaning “authorities,” whose principal motivation seems to be to save people from their own faith.

The Lotus Flower of Light: An Exquisite Inspiration For Life and Death
Written by Howard G. Charing
The flow of time, which appears to us as real as the flow of a river, may be nothing more than an illusion. “The distinction between past, present, and future,” Einstein writes, “is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.” Past, present, and future may all exist in a single infinitely indescribable moment.

Do Extraordinary Claims Really Require Extraordinary Evidence?
Written by Josie Varga
Death will always carry with it a certain mystical component. No one can truly know what happens when we die, however, deathbed visits and other metaphysical phenomena certainly do provide a confirming hint of what lies beyond this world.

Ninja Skills and Tools For Staying Sane
Written by Hilary Smith
At the time I was diagnosed with bipolar, I had so little awareness of my body or stress levels that I literally had to be sobbing before I realized I was sad, or be awake for three nights running before I realized I was stressed and anxious. Learning to “hear” my body and mind has been a revelation for me, and a crucial part of my stability.
