Lanai is one of the less visited islands due to the fact that for many years as it was mostly a huge plantation for the Dole company. However, as time as progressed, more tourist attractions have been added. It is consequently a quieter island than Oahu or Maui as it is much less populated.
Getting to the island of Lanai, Hawaii
Local commercial flights arrive and depart this Hawaiian island at the island’s main airport, the Lanai Airport, located near the southwest end of the island, some 3 miles from Lanai City.

There is no office for the Hawaii Visitors Bureau but much information can be obtained from the Oahu office.
Local Transportation on the island of Lanai
Rental cars are available from Dollar, or AA Paradise Network. Definitely plan ahead. There is no bus service on Lanai so plan your vacation to this Hawaiian island accordingly.
